Get your Comic on!

Hey, did you know? Today, September 25th, is Comic Book Day. This once considered geeky hobby has been taking the mainstream by storm in recent years. With comic book superhero movies breaking all kinds of records why not spend some time and enjoy the original medium these stories came from.

Unfortunately comic books are still somewhat a niche product and there isn't much you can get without travelling to Central London, but what's there is well worth the trip. For those more interested in some one off arty comic books, or small print indie stuff there's Gosh! Comics. They still have a great stock of the mainstream series downstairs but entering the store you will be welcomed with a great variety of unique books ranging from beautifully illustrated children's books to grim adult stories.

Nostalgia has been all the rage recently with trends from decades past in gaming, fashion and music coming back. If you haven't touched a comic book since your teenage days there's a good chance you can find your old favourite at Orbital Comics. They are a proud host of "the biggest and best selection of vintage comics in London". A great place to visit to foster a love for the art of comic books across generations as they of course also stock new issues of all the big currently running big name books.

And of course we have to mention the big McDaddy of all comic books that is the Forbidden Planet London Megastore. 'Tis an experience everyone should have even if you're not into comic books. The London megastore is great fun to visit. You will be welcomed with a great variety of comic and geek culture paraphernalia. Toys, clothes, gifts, souvenirs, art books, costumes, games and a great host of comic books and graphic novels. All of that and more under one big roof so if you are not sure what you want or just want to browse to get a feel for what is happening in the industry it's the place to go.

All of the shops mentioned also host regular events and signings with artists. If you need a lift from us check out the Carrot Cars mobile app for 10% discount on all journeys booked through the app.
