Culinary classics at Camino

Spanish cuisine is famously as welcoming and exciting as the country from which it hails, and Camino brings the heart and soul of Spain to London through terrific tapas and wonderful wines.

Inspired by a road trip its founders took across Spain, Camino's blend of friendly service combined with an energetic atmosphere complements their inventive dishes crafted from top-notch ingredients.

The Bankside restaurant is the newest addition to the Camino clan, with its location in one of London's most vibrant cultural quarters providing a superb backdrop for a whirlwind adventure through the food and drink of Spain.

Starting off with classic Spanish starters such as Manzanilla olives (served with lemon zest, thyme, and rosemary), Serrano ham croquettes, and tortilla de patatas with free-range Clarence Court Old Legbar eggs, the menu also brings some more innovative dishes to the table.

The Arroz Negro, comprising black rice, cuttlefish, squid ink, and alioli is a real talking point, whilst octopus with chickpea and beetroot purée, paprika, and sea salt also holds its corner in upholding Spain's deserved reputation as a culinary seafood specialist.

Vegetarian dishes are an oft-overlooked aspect of Spanish dining, and Camino Bankside brings out this dimension especially well.

The chicory salad with orange, hazelnut and honey dressing is zesty and piquant, the patatas bravas (potatoes with brava sauce and alioli) provide the kick that you would expect from a Spanish dish, and the baby aubergine stuffed with tomato, onion, coriander, mint and mojo verde is cool and comforting in equal measures.

The wine list includes a dazzling selection of refreshing white wines and fruity reds, which act as the perfect foil for the lively vibe that comes in when the shade falls over another evening on Bankside.
